Our society offers these benefits to our members:

  • presentations on shipwreck disasters, wreck diving, marine archaeology and nautical history
  • training courses on underwater archaeology and wreck diving
  • historical research workshops
  • information on specific shipwrecks, their history and diving them
  • projects involving historical research, underwater surveying, and shipwreck protection
  • wreck diving trips
  • certification under the Nautical Archaeology Society for divers and non-divers alike

Types of Membership

Full Membership

  • Full access to all training, workshops and events run by SPSNL
  • the right to vote at the Annual General Meeting and in elections
  • the right to run for election to the Board of Directors
  • full access to shipwreck information on this website
  • full membership for a year from January 1st to December 31st is currently $40

Junior Membership

  • anyone under the age of 16
  • shall not have voting rights
  • may be given permission to access some or all of the full membership benefits, for the purposes of advancing their education if permission is obtained, in writing, from the President of the SPSNL
  • public access to shipwreck information on this website
  • free if you are under 16 on January 1st

Please download and print the SPSNL membership form. Fill out the form, sign the Code of Conduct, and mail both with your cheque to the address on the form. Or scan and email the completed forms, along with an e-transfer of $40, to info@shipwrecksnl.ca

Membership in SPSNL includes membership in the Ontario Underwater Council (OUC). OUC provides SPSNL with the insurance we need to offer our activities and training.
